Hello and welcome to my fundraising page for the 2022 Houston marathon! My name is Kathleen Faltus, Registered Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center, mommy to a beautiful and wild spirited two year old daughter, and lover of all things sweet. Originally from Rhode Island and now residing in Houston, TX I look forward to training for and completing the Houston marathon while raising funds for the American Cancer society. My sister and I will be completing this race in honor of our mother, Kathleen “Miles” Faltus, who passed away from pancreatic cancer on July 13, 2015. From day of diagnosis to her last day on Earth she exemplified the definition of love, strength and courage. She was selfless in her ways when saying her goodbyes…taking her “Daisy runs” with our older sister to ensure she saw everyone she loved one last time. Even during her weakest of moments she made sure her cards were signed and written with her most genuine words-if you knew her you would know the post office was kept in business with the handwritten notes. She was the best nurse around with her traditional white uniform (Go Nursing!), the best supporter at all my siblings sporting events with her well known fog horn, and loved her walks on the path with our Aunt (where all the secrets were told!). Her nickname was Miles which is only fitting for my sister Colleen and I to be #RunningforMiles to bring awareness in funding cancer research to “Make Cancer History”. At the American Cancer Society, no donation is too small – each and every dollar counts. Your donations help fund groundbreaking cancer research, patient care programs, and much more, making a real difference in communities. With every donation, you are helping the American Cancer Society save lives. I hope that you will join my sister and I as we embark on our #RunningForMiles 💚💜 journey and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
