St. Jude is the patron saint of desperate and lost causes. I believe he is a symbol for choosing faith when all else seems lost, and a testament to standing firm in the face of an ever uncertain and challenging world.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures and means of prevention for childhood cancer and other pediatric catastrophic diseases. At St. Jude, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay.

As I embark on a 26.2 mile run after months of rigorous training, the hearts of these children and families will be with me. Every step I take will be to help the patients of St. Jude’s. I run for those who can’t, and I am so proud and honored to be able to fundraise for such a deserving and necessary charity.
