I cannot believe the marathon is less than two months away. Sunday I did my longest run yet - 18 miles and saw the most beautiful sunrise. This run had its challenges and it was a struggle to finish but I got it done. Brett had Starbucks ordered for pickup so my run ended there and we all enjoyed bagels afterwards! I only have a few more long runs left and race day will be here before I know. I am truly looking forward to it!

15 Miles
Yesterday I had my long run at 15 miles! The weather at the lakefront was perfect for this. I got up early and got my miles in. I focused on maintaining my pace and it was one of my strongest runs yet. So thankful for all of the support so far!

Half Marathon Complete
Wow! Training season is flying by! I am now completed the half marathon (earlier this month) and am continuing on with my training schedule. This past week my sister was in town and we were able to get many runs in together - which is great! Running in the summer in the city is the best!

Shamrock Shuffle on Sunday!
I cannot wait to participate in my first shuffle since living in Chicago! We have been here almost ten years now and this is the first race in the Chicago run series I am participating in this year. My goal: to finish and have fun! I have been training and hoping for nice weather this weekend!

My sister Krysta and I had a great run today in Florida. I sure wish I could figure out how to add a picture that we took in our Run Chicago gear!

Thank you for checking out my fundraising page and running journey of 2023 (a busy one!). I appreciate the support and you for following along for updates. My first race of 2023 is the Shamrock Shuffle 8k in March, followed by a half marathon in June, relay team for the Chicago Triathlon (5k run) in August and then the Chicago Marathon in October and wrapping up the season with the Hot Chocolate 5k in November. My Sunday mornings are spent at one of my favorite places in the city, the lakefront path! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all! <3

Team CASA members use the incredible experience of training for and running one of the world’s largest marathons to raise awareness and funds for the most vulnerable individuals in Chicago–children in the Cook County foster care system who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. 

I have been fundraising for CASA since I was an undergraduate student at University of Tampa and I am excited to continue my efforts for CASA of Cook County! This past year I ran a half marathon and I am thrilled to support CASA in my fundraising efforts for 2023 Chicago Marathon!
