A MESSAGE FROM Kaytee’s Run for Pits Fundraising Page
On March 7, 2027, I run my first marathon ever! I'm running the 2027 LOS ANGELES MARATHON to raise money for Angel City Pits. Angel City Pit Bulls helps at-risk populations and makes a better future for shelter animals. If you know me, you know that saving the lives of shelter animals is important to me.
In 2017, we rescued our first Pit Bull mix, Sydney, from our local shelter. When we adopted her, the volunteer asked if we would be okay adopting a Pit Bull and didn't understand her hesitation. Our first few months being new Pit Bull owners were eye-opening. When we walked her, people called her scary, ugly, aggressive or mean. But she always smiled, looked to them for pets and saw the good in everyone. She was a wonderful ambassador for her breed: becoming a pack walk leader for Blockhead Brigade and earning her Canine Good Citizen certificate.
After she passed away, we adopted another Pit Bull mix, Brooklyn, from Palmdale Animal Shelter. She is spunky and full of energy and has been helping me train for my first marathon.
Shelter dogs have saved my life and I owe so much to my two Pit Bull mixes who have changed me forever. I hope to inspire others to help save these beautiful creatures.
