This event raises funds for the exciting autism research happening across many different institutions in Philly, including the A. J. Drexel Autism Institute, where I work. Last year, this challenge raised $800,000 for my institution alone, which they chose to devote to helping early career researchers pursue exciting questions about modifiable risk factors, early detection and intervention, and how social networks affect adult outcomes. 

Our ultimate goal is to help improve the everyday lives of people with autism. All participant-raised funds will go directly to autism research and programs at institutions across Philly including CHOP and Penn, which have also supported my training.
