Hi everyone! Thank you so much for finding your way to my fundraising page.
The two little monsters on this page are my girls. They have changed my life in ways I could not have ever imagined. Due to a genetic blood disorder, there could have been a scenario that ended with me not being there to be their mom. The thought is unimaginable. I had an incredible prenatal team surrounding me and they were standing by with possible blood transfusions. They also monitored me closely and did not release me until me hemoglobin numbers had risen and it was safe to do so.
The numbers of pregnant women in the U.S alone without adequate prenatal care is staggering. The U.S is the only high resource nation with a rising maternal mortality rate. A woman is twice as likely to die during childbirth today in the U.S than a generation ago. It doesn’t have to be that way.
Every Mother Counts is an incredible organization that works on the local level training midwives and doulas in the U.S and abroad. A trained midwife can meet most needs of women who cannot make it to a care center. Please consider contributing to Every Mother Counts and help women in this country and abroad get the care they need during what should be a joyous time.
