A MESSAGE FROM Layla Runs NYC with Brave Like Gabe!
I’m so excited and honored to be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with the Brave Like Gabe Foundation!
My connection to Brave Like Gabe is through my Aunt Shawn George, a nine-year survivor of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC). Throughout my life, she has been a constant source of positivity and joy, someone who brings people together and makes every moment feel special. Watching her face a rare cancer diagnosis with such strength and optimism, and then choosing to turn that experience to advocacy, has been so inspiring.
ACC is a rare cancer, which unfortunately means it receives far less research funding than more common diagnoses. Fewer patients often means fewer studies, fewer treatment options, and slower progress. That’s why organizations like Brave Like Gabe matter so much. They help fund critical research and create a community that reminds patients they are not alone.
Every mile I run is in support of patients and families who deserve better research and more treatment options. I’m incredibly grateful for any support, whether that’s through a donation, sharing this page, or cheering me on along the way!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! :)
