A MESSAGE FROM Lucy's Fundraising Page
Hi everybody! My name is Lucy Lannan. Thank you for supporting me in running the 2023 NYC Marathon in support of the students of Harlem Lacrosse! Your donation helps close opportunity gaps for students through academic intervention and coaching, lacrosse instruction and competition, and social-emotional enrichment. Your contribution creates an impact in Harlem Lacrosse participants' lives and in their communities!
Lacrosse was a huge aspect of my own development as a kid, allowing me to build confidence, team-building skills, and capacity for personal growth. Lacrosse and other team sports allowed me to realize my strength, and finding my voice on the field has translated into all facets of my life. I am incredibly fortunate to support providing students with similar experiences, empowering them to find their own voice. My long-term goal is to become a physician to enable individuals to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. I aim to take care of people holistically, acknowledging how physical activity and emotional well-being contribute to overall health and development.
Finding my passion for running has allowed me to care for my physical and mental health while connecting with interesting and passionate people, inspiring me in my support of Harlem Lacrosse students in their passions with lacrosse. The photo above is from my first half marathon, the Brooklyn Half, this past Spring. Taking my passion for running to road races has been an incredibly fulfilling journey and one I plan to continue for many years to come. I am so grateful and humbled to run this race in a city I have come to call home and love so much. Thank you for supporting this incredible cause in any way you can, and I look forward to honoring Harlem Lacrosse on November 5th!
