A MESSAGE FROM Matthew
On May 18th I'll be participating in the Eagles Autism Challenge 50 Mile Ride. This is a deeply personal issue for our family. For those of you that don't know our son Patrick was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 18 months. It was a very scary time for Kelly and I not knowing much about autism. Since then Pat has done amazing with the tremendous resources at his disposal. We are very lucky to live in a place where so much early intervention is available. We've learned so much about autism but there is so much more science doesn't know yet and this is such a great cause to raise funds for. Throughout the years I've done a number of charity rides. I did these rides cause I enjoyed riding my bike and I had friends on a team that participated as well but I never had any personal connection to the cause I was raising money for. I stopped doing these rides because although I enjoyed them and they certainly raised money for good causes I felt guilty asking friends and family for donations year after year but now I have a cause I truly believe in.
Our Patrick is such a sweet, happy, gentle kid and I'm thrilled at the chance to raise money for autism research. If you can give anything it would be greatly appreciated.
