This year, I'm running the 2021 Chicago Marathon in support of The Andrew Weishar Foundation ("Weish4Ever"). As a passionate hematology/oncology nurse, I have chosen to partner with Weish4Ever, as this organization has had a direct impact for patients that I work with.
Weish4Ever is a Chicago-based, non-profit organization dedicated to "Paying it Forward" by bringing joy and financial relief to families with adolescents or young adults ("AYA") battling cancer. By donating, your gift directly uplifts a patient and family facing cancer. This often under-served population of cancer patients (AYA, ages 15-39) faces unique challenges including financial distress, hiatus from school and/or work, lack of insurance, social isolation, delay of diagnosis, fertility preservation, among many other obstacles. Weish4Ever is a vehicle to relieve some of the many burdens these patients face and it's possible thanks to you!
