This year I've decided to join Team Korey in fundraising and raising awareness for Camp Korey in the Pacific Northwest.
I'm going to do that by running in the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7th, and I'd be honored if you or your company joined me and supported my run.
A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and both corporate and personal donations will be acknowledged on a DNAcademy blog post that I promote broadly.
(All corporate sponsorships, including your company logo on my race shirt, are sold out.)
Let me tell you why I'm supporting Camp Korey.
Camp Korey provides transformative camp experiences for children who have life-altering medical conditions.
Kids with serious medical conditions miss out on the joy and adventure of childhood because of their physical limitations, their treatments, and their regular medical appointments.
But for one week a year, they don't have to think about any of that. They can simply show up at Camp Korey, have fun, and be kids again.
Camp Korey provides safety, friendship, inclusion and fun. All of the medical staff, cabin counselors, clean-up staff, and program facilitators create moments of magic every day for their campers.
No one is different at Camp Korey. Every kid is accepted for who they are. And all they have to do is have fun. They leave Camp Korey with new friends, happy songs, and stories of the greatest paint fight of all time. They also leave with greater confidence and resiliency in themselves.
If you've ever wished you could just be yourself and that people would love you for who you are, I encourage you to join me by donating to Camp Korey.
Camp Korey is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible.
Thanks for joining me in making a difference in the world.
