A MESSAGE FROM Run Mitchy Run...Mitch Motivates goes for Six
RELEASE RECOVERY FOUNDATION TEAM #runmitchyrun
As Chief Motivator and COO of Neinstein Plastic Surgery, it's my calling and privilege to run the 2021 NYC Marathon. #teamneinstein
This will be my 6th overall marathon, and my 3rd New York City Marathon. LFGGGGG.
I am running with the best team, the Release Recovery Foundation.
When I was younger I was struggling with addiction. It lead me down a dark, dark path. One that landed me in rehab by the time I was in 19 years old. I went to treatment for 4 months at the Caron Foundation, then 4 months at a halfway house in the Poconos.
Even with the 8 months of treatment, it still took me 2 more years of trial and error to finally get sober. Relapse was hard, but I can now say that I have been sober since I was 21 years old. Today I am 34 years old, and I have been sober for 13 years.
My work career in New York took me down a few different paths. One of those was to work with Zac Clark and Justin Gurland, founders of Release Recovery.
When they started the Release Recovery Foundation, I knew they were on to something special!
The Release Recovery Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all who are ready and willing to seek professional treatment, are able.
Substance abuse and mental illness destroys the lives of too many people from underserved communities who may not have the resources for proven treatments. Release Recovery Foundation offers scholarships to bridge the gap between what people can afford and what they need to transform their lives, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
