A MESSAGE FROM Molly
As a woman and professional athlete I was always aware of and often afraid of how becoming a mother would impact my career. It looked hard and I didn’t see many examples of support. Having my daughter has been amazing and has of course been eye opening to the complexities and scope of these challenges of being a Mom in this industry and this country. I joined team Mom and if I’m anything I’m a good hype woman! I’ve been amazed at what &Mother has accomplished even before I had JoJo,
and I’ve even already benefited from their initiatives like the push to add maternity clauses to sponsorship contracts and providing lactation spaces at major races.
I’m glad I can merge racing at the highest level with supporting an organization that’s looking out for Moms and helping in such tangible ways. &Mother isn’t just getting things done they’re setting new standards and showing what practical, needed support looks like. Thanks for supporting my journey running NYC as an athlete, friend, advocate and Mother!
