After being deeply involved in THON during my time at Penn State, I knew I wanted to continue doing my part to fight childhood cancer long after graduation. Over time, I realized I could combine my passion for this cause with my love of running. Since then, I have had the privilege of fundraising and running two marathons on behalf of incredible organizations. I am beyond excited to continue this journey by running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in support of the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF).
For those who know me, you know this cause has been close to my heart for many years. It was fueled by my time at Penn State, where I had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with six THON families while serving as the Family Relations Chair for my organization. Through those relationships, I saw firsthand just a glimpse of the immense impact a childhood cancer diagnosis has on an entire family, as well as the extraordinary strength required of both the children and their support systems.
This fight became even more personal for me after Gus gained his wings in July 2024, following five short but incredibly meaningful years with us. To know Gus was to love Gus. I hope that through this opportunity, I can help make even a small difference toward a future where no family has to say goodbye to their child.
I invite you to join me by making a meaningful donation. For more than 35 years, CBTF has grown from a small New York-based organization offering information and peer support into a national leader providing year-round programs for families facing pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors, from diagnosis and treatment through survivorship and bereavement. As a founder of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network, CBTF champions collaboration to advance research and address the often devastating long-term effects of treatment. Your support helps ensure that children, survivors, and families across the country receive the community, resources, and hope they deserve.
