A MESSAGE FROM Nate's NYC Marathon Fundraiser
Guns kill more kids than anything else in America. More than cancer. More than car crashes.
Nearly every American will know at least one victim of gun violence in their lifetime.
On February 14, 2018, a young man armed with an AR-15 walked onto the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School campus in Parkland, Florida and murdered 17 students and staff and injured 17 more. It was one of the deadliest school shootings to that date. Student survivors were told it was a terrible tragedy, but not to expect any change. That's just how it was in America.
The student survivors called BS. They gathered on a living room floor to plan a march in Washington, DC to demand lawmakers take action to prevent gun violence, and a million people joined them. March For Our Lives was born that day, to ensure that this would be the last generation to fear gun violence in America.
I am inspired by the team's work every day, and joined the March For Our Lives board of directors to support their efforts.
You can read more about MFOL’s impact here.
I am running the 2024 NYC Marathon to help March For Our Lives reduce gun violence in the US. I have set a goal to raise at least $3,500 to support our work. I hope you will join me with a donation!
Every dollar supports MFOL’s judicial advocacy, youth empowerment, and Get Out the Vote programs. This year is an especially important one, as there is a decisive election just TWO DAYS after I run the marathon. With your help, MFOL will be able to turn out record numbers of young voters to elect gun safety champions.
