I have always had a deep passion for helping vulnerable
individuals, and I’ve made it my mission to make a meaningful impact in their
lives. As an immigration lawyer, I work every day to assist vulnerable
communities in obtaining legal status and humanitarian protections here in the
United States. I understand firsthand the importance of support, guidance, and
a sense of community, which is why I’m so driven to make a difference.
I didn’t grow up in a typical household and relied heavily
on my siblings and my community to support and raise me. These experiences have
shaped my dedication to giving back in any way I can. When I began researching
charities for the Chicago Marathon, CASA stood out to me for its mission and
passion in helping vulnerable children transition from foster care to their
communities. CASA provides these children with resources and mentorship, which
allow them to succeed and have a positive, lasting impact on society.
I’m running for CASA not only to raise funds, but also to
bring attention to the incredible work they do. This marathon is a chance for
me to share with others how CASA empowers children and how volunteers can make
a difference in the lives of these young people. Every step I take in this race
is dedicated to the children who benefit from CASA’s unwavering support.
