A MESSAGE FROM Nick Vega's 2023 NYC Marathon Fundraiser (Circle of Care)
Exciting news! I am thrilled to share that I will be running the 2023 NYC Marathon and embarking on a journey to raise funds for a very important cause close to my heart: adolescent cancer support. With your generosity, proceeds will go directly to Circle of Care, an organization focused on providing emotional and financial assistance to children and families from their diagnosis through treatment & beyond.
I will be running to honor my high school and college friend, Khaliq Sanda. Khaliq was a once-in-a-lifetime friend who was tragically robbed of a full life due to cancer. For those who didn't know him, Khaliq truly defined courage and character, and incessantly exuded positive energy to those around him. But the thing I admire most about him is how he didn't let a diagnosis change his outlook and way of life. In the face of adversity, Khaliq worked tirelessly to finish his Duke degree, moved to NYC, and most importantly, continued to party and celebrate life.
Circle of Care is an organization that enables cancer warriors to continue to live their lives as undisrupted as possible, just like Khaliq did so well.
