As you may know, the 50th running of the TCS New York City Marathon was this past November. It has always been a dream of mine to run the NYC Marathon. In 2022, I’ll finally be running instead of cheering from the sidelines!
I was going to do it in 2020, then the race was canceled because of COVID. Getting through the pandemic has been tough enough without a rigorous training schedule for those 26 grueling Marathon miles.
Now I’m ready! But, I won’t be able to do it without your support! This is an opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone while supporting an organization I have long admired —GallopNYC, a nonprofit in NYC that provides therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults.
I’ve been involved and volunteering with GallopNYC since 2013. It does great and important work; you can learn about it here.
By supporting my marathon journey, you are supporting GallopNYC and giving individuals, particularly with disabilities, veterans, seniors, and at-risk youth a chance to ride and improve life skills as well as set individualized goals through horsemanship.
You can follow along and keep me honest by following me on Instagram @nikkislesin and Facebook.
Please consider donating to GallopNYC today. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donations are tax-deductible, and you will also get a receipt for your donations!
Thank you for your support!
