A MESSAGE FROM Liv's fundraising page for AMC on behalf of Fish
I am running the TCS NYC Marathon this November to raise money for the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, with donations specifically going to the AMC to the Rescue fund. Any support is appreciated!
For my fiancée Maddy's birthday last December, all she wanted was to foster a cat named Fish who had such severe injuries to her leg that she was on the euthanasia list because the shelter could not provide the care she needed. We worked with Little Wanderers, a rescue organization, to pick Fish up and bring her home. As graduate students, her medical bills would have been too much for us to cover without the help of the AMC to the Rescue fund. They covered her extensive joint reconstruction surgery to save her injured leg from amputation, as well as the follow-up bandage change appointments. Through the months-long healing process, I fell in love with Fish. She is such a cuddly, warm, friendly cat who brings me peace during a very difficult time in my life. I never would have thought I'd have a cat, let alone a second one, but Maddy and I just could not not keep Fish around after we'd gone through her entire recovery process together, and she's just so cute! We're incredibly grateful to AMC for supporting her recovery and enabling her to have this life with us, and I want to raise funds to give back so that another rescue animal can have a chance at getting adopted after their medical issues are cared for.
