A MESSAGE FROM Patrick's Fundraising Page
When I was 6 years old my little sister Elena, who was 4 at the time, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent brain surgery that altered the course of my family's lives forever. Over the next 30+ years she had several more brain surgeries and many additional painful and complex medical procedures. The strength and grit she showed us during these three decades, until she booked her ticket to heaven in 2022, was something I'll never be able to comprehend. She went through life as a beacon of happiness and love, lighting up everything that came near her. She loved to run, and I have no doubt that if she lived a more "traditional life" she would have been an amazing athlete. I'd like to honor her memory by raising money for the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation and running 26.2 miles through Chicago with her, proudly wearing her name.
