Ever
since I survived a brain aneurysm and stroke in 2014, I have been turning obstacles
into opportunities. And, one of those amazing opportunities is the chance of a
lifetime to run in the TCS New York City
Marathon 2021 to raise awareness of brain aneurysms and raising
funds for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation (BAF). Until it happened to me, I
didn’t know that 1 in 50 people has an unruptured aneurysm. That equals 6.5
million people in the U.S.. Sadly, 30,000 people in the U.S. suffer a rupture
each year and half of them do not survive. There is hope as brain aneurysms are
beatable and treatable if detected early.
I’ve
made it my personal mission to help change those statistics. Please support me
with a donation, so BAF can continue its mission to educate people, fund
research and save lives. This will not be easy for me. Each and
every mile will be challenging, but I am motivated and determined. I am a
survivor. If it wasn’t for organizations like BAF, I wouldn’t be here today to
run in the marathon. Survive and Thrive!
