Hi!
My name is Rachel! If you don’t know me, I’m from a big military family- specifically, an Army family. My mom, dad, and older brother are all graduates of the United States Military Academy (Class of ‘89, ‘91, and ‘19 respectively). Growing up in the military community is such a unique experience. The connections and care run deep and it is a community bonded by service and responsibility. Even though my military ID expired when I turned 23 (if you know, you know) it remains a community I will be a part of for a lifetime.
Beyond West Point and the Army, the connection to military service in my family spans both sides, several generations, and multiple branches. My dad, a retired Lieutenant Colonel, was a Ranger himself! As part of his 22-year career in the Army, he finished flight school and went on to earn his Ranger tab. The last two decades of his career were spent as a helicopter pilot, wearing his tab in the sky in just about as many airframes as countries. It's because of them that I am running in support of the Lead the Way Fund, which supports disabled U.S. Army Rangers and their families.
I’m honored to run as part of Team Army Ranger for the 2024 New York City Marathon and to give back to the community that raised me. Please support me, Team Army Ranger, and the hundreds of soldiers, veterans, and families the Fund helps every year by clicking the donate button. Every dollar you give has an impact, and just like the Rangers, you can Lead The Way!
