Hi! I’m Reed Sharp. I was diagnosed with noninvasive melanoma at the age of 19, making myself a third-generation melanoma patient. Thanks to education at an early age on the dangers of the sun from my father, along with routine skincare checks, my melanoma was removed in its early stages before progressing. My grandfather was not as lucky however, due to the lack of available resources in the past. On November 5, 2023 I will be running in the New York City Marathon in support of the Melanoma Education Foundation and in memory of my grandfather. The MEF is a nonprofit organization teaching in over 1700 schools across the U.S. to educate teens and adults on the early self-detection and prevention of melanoma, a common but lethal skin cancer if undetected. Your contribution will help the MEF continue educating our youth and saving more lives. For more information on the MEF, please visit www.skincheck.org
Thank you!
