During the pandemic, I started running consistently as a way to maintain my mental and physical health and have slowly developed a love for the sport. Running has helped me connect with the city, explore new neighborhoods, and reignite my desire to take on new, and hard challenges.
That’s why, on November 6th, 2022, I will be running the New York City Marathon and raising money for The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC)! As the nonprofit partner of the NYC Health Department, FPHNYC helps fund and implement public health initiatives across NYC, including the COVID-19 response, HIV prevention and treatment, nutrition, and cardiovascular health programs.
As someone who works in public health – and completed my Master of Public Health during the pandemic – I am excited to be raising money not only for a great cause, but for an organization that supports the city and community in which I live. I chose a career in public health, because I want to help create a more equitable and accessible health system for all people and the Fund for Public Health in New York City does just that.
My goal is to raise $2,620 in honor of the 26.2 miles I will be running. Click on the donate button to contribute to my goal and support my journey. Thank you for your support!
