A MESSAGE FROM Rose
Super Quick Update, especially for my neighbors wondering why I have not been spotted recently:
I broke my ankle on February 11th and my Marathon #7 has been deferred to 2025. I am at peace with this turn of events for I know it was God's will for me.
I will further update this page soon. In the meantime, here is what I wrote for 2024:

$7K for Marathon #7 in 7.7 Hours (17.7 min/mile)
Lord willing, the 2024 LA Marathon will be my 7th Full Marathon, my first being in 2008.
The pictures and video on this page are from my 6th Full Marathon in LA on March 19, 2023.
I
keep trying again, because I want to do better than the last time. My
best time was for my second marathon in 2012 where I finished in
8:23:31. I finished just a few hairs under 9 hours for marathon #6 in
March 2023. It will be a huge challenge for me, but if you all help me
get to my $7K goal it will help me work that much harder.
I am once again participating in the Conquer LA Challenge to benefit The McCourt Foundation (TMF).
The Conquer LA Challenge consist of three races throughout Los Angeles.

I first decided to fundraise for TMF because I have close friends
who have been touched in some way by a neurological disease which is
being researched and treated by the funds raised.
Research & Education:
TMF is partnered with some of the top Neurology Departments in the
country to support the research for advancement of preventative
treatments for many diseases including:
Alzheimer’s, ALS, Parkinson’s and MS.
The
foundation provides direct financial support for innovative neurology
research led by world-renowned physicians at Cedars-Sinai, Mass General
Hospital, and Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
This
financial support is allowing research experts to break ground on
innovative diagnostic tools, procedures and treatment options for
patients. We hope to diagnose sooner and ultimately find cures.
The
foundation hosts and offers free educational forums for patients and
caregivers battling Neurological diseases. Highly renowned physicians
present the latest research and therapeutic approach to elevate public
awareness and provide valuable resources for patient advocacy.
