This year, I’m running the Los Angeles Half Marathon on Sunday, March 16th with Team AFSP to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Their mission--to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide--resonates deeply with me, especially as we continue to navigate the lasting impacts of the pandemic on mental health.
We’ve all seen how important mental health is—it’s a conversation we can no longer avoid. Yet, despite growing awareness, the stigma remains, and too often, people feel they must suffer in silence. This is why I’m dedicating my time, energy, and this race to raising funds for AFSP. Their work in research, education, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide is nothing short of life-saving.
I’ve been fortunate to combine my love for fitness with giving back in the past:
- 2023: I biked 250.52 miles in Caring for Cambodia’s fitness challenge, raising $2,390 for students’ education in Cambodia.
- 2022: I joined Women in Funds for a Cycle for Survival event, raising $1,410 for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
This year, my focus is mental health. I believe every life matters, and we need to create a world where no one feels like they’re in it alone.
If mental health advocacy is something you care about—or if you just want to cheer me on as I take on 13.1 miles!—I’d be so grateful for your support. Every donation is 100% tax-deductible and directly supports AFSP’s mission.
Together, we can help break the silence, build understanding, and create hope. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
