A MESSAGE FROM Sarah
Brain injuries have been a heredity nightmare for my family for as long as I've known. Four years ago, my mom suffered a brain aneurysm resulting in a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Due to outstanding care and countless prayers from friends and family, she made an incredibly rare full recovery with minimal deficits. My younger sister also suffered a perinatal stroke and has lived a completely normal and successful life. Unfortunately, our luck ran out when my grandma suffered a stroke and passed away shortly after.
I am both honored and grateful to be running the Chicago Marathon for an organization that I share an extremely personal connection to. Thank you so much for your donation to the Brain Injury Recovery Foundation, and please know that no matter how big or small your contribution is, it is truly appreciated.
