You may have heard that I am running the Chicago Marathon in 2023 on a charity bib. I am fundraising for Team CASA of Cook County Chicago. CASA/GAL Association for Children supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. CASA members use the incredible experience of training for and running one of the world’s largest marathons to raise awareness and funds for the most vulnerable individuals in Chicago–children in the Cook County foster care system.
This cause is very
important to me because I volunteered for over 6 years with the Jacksonville Guardian
Ad Litem (GAL) as a Court Appointed Child Advocate for children in foster care.
Each case was different as was each child, but they all deserved 100%
commitment from me. GALS are the voice of these children in the foster homes
and at court and see to it that the children's basic and emotional needs are
being met.
I
have a fundraising goal of $1,750. Would you be willing to contribute? A gift of any amount would mean the world to me.
It
would also mean a lot if you could share my fundraiser link on social media.
The more exposure I get, the faster I will reach my fundraising goal.
I would love to talk to you in person about my fundraiser, so please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Sheila
