On May 16, 2020 I will join the entire Eagles organization and thousands of others from the community to ride, run or walk in the Eagles Autism Challenge. This event is dedicated to raising funds for innovative research and programs to address the complex issues presented by the condition of autism.
This cause is personal for me. My dear friend, Jim Stewart, was diagnosed with Asperger’s at the age of 29. It was difficult for him and his family as he grew up struggling with social anxiety and depression, and not understanding why until much later in life. Jim ultimately lost his battle with depression and anxiety. This year, I am dedicating my fundraising efforts to Jim’s memory, and will run in the 5k in honor of him.
All funds raised go
directly towards autism research and/or programs at beneficiary institutions,
as together we shift from autism awareness to action. As 100% of funds raised
go directly to autism research & care programs, I hope you will consider
joining with me, in Jim's memory, as we celebrate the exciting possibility of a
ground breaking future for those affected by autism.
