A MESSAGE FROM Stefanie
Last year was the inaugural year of the Eagles Autism Challenge. I volunteered at a rest stop along the race route (pictured above, with the president of the Eagles), watching the bikers fly by in the POURING rain. This year I decided to join the fun (and cross my fingers it doesn't rain again), so I'll be doing the 15-mile bike ride.
Autism has played a huge role in my life, and I think about it every day. From growing up with family members and friends with ASD, to taking classes in college, to working with families as a research nurse, and now writing my dissertation on depression in moms of kids with ASD and building a career around improving care and services for families.
The research we do would not be possible without two things: the participation of amazing families, and funding. Please consider donating and spreading the word to help me reach (or even surpass?) my goal. Below is a description of the event and how your donation will be used:
On May 18, 2019 I will join the entire organization and thousands of others from the community to ride, run or walk in the Eagles Autism Challenge. This event is dedicated to raising funds for innovative research and programs to address the complex issues presented by the condition of autism. By providing the necessary resources to thought leaders, we can advance scientific breakthroughs. All participant-raised funds, 100 %, will go directly towards autism research and/or programs at beneficiary partners, as together we shift from autism awareness to action. I hope you will consider making a donation towards my fundraising goal to help transform the lives of those affected by autism today and tomorrow. Thank you!
