A MESSAGE FROM Stephen
My father, Bruce, passed away from a Grade IV Glioblastoma brain tumor after a 4+ year battle in December. While he still maintained his zest for life as much as he could throughout his battle, he was unable to do something he loved for decades: run. It was something that he and I bonded over, possibly even more than our love for the St. Louis Cardinals.
When I got into running (inspired by him, of course) after finishing grad school, we had floated the idea of running the NYC Marathon together one day. He had run it three times in the '80s-'90s, and I ran my first in 2016. Unfortunately, with his cancer diagnosis, we were never able bring that goal to fruition.
Instead, this year, to honor his memory and to keep the passion for running that he had alive, I am running to raise money for the Brain Tumor Foundation so that we can see a future without the debilitating effects of glioblastoma. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button! If you prefer to donate via check, contact me with info on how/where to send.
Thank you all in advance for your contributions toward this cause!
