September 23 update:  Less than one day until The Boulevard Race.  KREM 2 News aired a story last night highlighting the race and my commitment to participate, using a scooter, to honor Allen.  Here is the link:


On Sunday, Sept 24, I will be participating in the inaugural Boulevard Race in Spokane to raise money for Community Cancer Fund, an Inland Northwest organization making a huge impact in supporting cancer patients and their families.

I will be "running" (scooter-aided . . . recovering from a broken ankle) to honor a dear friend, Allen Dykes (photos below).  Allen passed away on April 2, at age 58, after bravely battling cancer for two years.  Your donation will be greatly appreciated and will go to a good cause, Community Cancer Fund.
