CASA is a national organization of volunteer "Court Appointed Special Advocates" who give voice to abused and neglected children in ongoing child welfare court cases. For the last 4 years, I've had the privilege of advocating for several children in Chicago's foster care system as a CASA volunteer.
This year, I'm training for the 2024 Chicago Marathon and running on behalf of CASA and the children that the organization serves. Providing one year of advocacy services to two children costs $3,000, so I'm hoping to raise that amount to continue growing the number of children CASA is able to serve.
The need for these services in Chicago/Cook County is high, and I've seen first-hand just how great an impact advocates can have on a child's trajectory in the system. While CASA volunteers are actively advocating for hundreds of children in the Cook County system, there are more than 5,600 child victims of abuse and neglect that all deserve an advocate. Your donation will help increase CASA's impact and change a child's story.
