A MESSAGE FROM 3 A Bereavement Foundation
As anyone who has experienced loss knows, grief can be a difficult and isolating experience. For those who are already struggling financially, the added burden of funeral and other expenses can be overwhelming. That's where 3 "A" Bereavement comes in. We are dedicated to helping low-income and working poor bereaved families secure the services they need to comprehensively address their bereavement needs. We offer a variety of programs and resources, all designed to help families through this tough time. We also provide donations towards funeral, burial and/or cremation expenses, provide crime victims assistance, provide community outreach, and provide education to raise awareness about the importance of life insurance and how to cope with grief.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of 3 "A" Bereavement Foundation's service to the Houston community! We are excited to be participating in the Chevron Houston Marathon's Run for a Reason Program again and we are looking forward to another year of helping bereaved families receive the support services they need.

Team 3ABF, has a fundraising goal of $50,000 this year and we would love your help in reaching it. Your support will allow us to continue providing counseling, support groups, and other services to families who have lost a loved one. Whether you participate in support of Houston families or in memory of a loved one you've lost, we welcome your participation on Team 3ABF. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are grieving. Thank you for your support!

Since our inception in September 1997, 3ABF has:
  • Assisted over 12,800 families, each consisting of multiple persons, including parents, siblings, children and/or spouses, etc.
  • Directly provided over $480,000 in funeral/burial assistance and grief counseling.
  • Assisted families in receiving over $2.75 Million from other supporters (approximately 98% from Crime Victims Compensation Funds and 2% from FEMA for 2005 Hurricane Victims).
  • Provided over 1200 hours of group and/or individual counseling services.
