A MESSAGE FROM Kicking Cancer's Ass

From Orly: As many of you know, I have Stage 4 Cancer. Also, as some may know, I have never run a full marathon before. In fact. I have never run more than 13.1 miles. But next year, I hope to run a full 26.2 miles for The American Cancer Society. It seems only fitting, but it is definitely scary. I will need to schedule runs around chemo and surgeries. But I am hopeful, and stubborn.

From Abrielle:  When my mom was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer, the doctors told her she wouldn't be able to run once she started chemo. She told them, "I am running a full marathon next year. Figure it out."

    The Houston Marathon is an annual marathon held every January in Houston, Texas. With thousands of runners and spectators, it is the largest single day sporting event in the city. It is run concurrently with a half marathon.
