At Carlino’s, our passion has always been about bringing families together through the joy of food. For four decades, we've been proud to be a part of our community. Today, we're thrilled to announce our sponsorship with The Eagles Autism Challenge (EAC).
Why The EAC?
When choosing a sponsorship, it was clear that The Eagles Autism Foundation shares our values and dedication to improving the world. Their dedication aligns perfectly with our commitment to our community and its well-being. Plus, our shared love for the Philadelphia Eagles made this choice easy.
Our Community & Our Family
In 1997, Kathy DiMichele joined Carlino's and formed a deep friendship with Laura Carlino and her family. Both families had a special connection, with their children being born within six months of each other – Kathy's son, Giovanni, in February 1999 and Laura's daughter, Nadia, in August of the same year.
Their families became inseparable, and Giovanni and Nadia grew up as close as siblings. But life threw a challenging twist their way. At just five months old, Giovanni was diagnosed with hemophilia, a condition that meant his blood couldn't clot properly, leading to severe bleeding from even minor injuries. A few years down the road, another diagnosis came – autism.
In response to Giovanni's hemophilia diagnosis and the lack of local research and resources, the DiMichele and Carlino families worked tirelessly to establish an annual golf outing to raise funds for hemophilia research and care. Our ambitious goal was to raise $1 million, and after many years, we successfully achieved it. Today, advancements in hemophilia research give us hope for a potential future cure.
Now, we aim to channel that same energy into supporting autism research and care.
Giovanni's Journey
Despite his health challenges, Giovanni embodies resilience and joy. He is a source of inspiration, described by Nadia Carlino as "sunshine in human form." Giovanni is also married to Taylor Swift (sorry, Travis!). He had the wonderful opportunity to see Taylor in concert and attend her movie with his best friend, Nadia.
With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals like Giovanni. Join our team to champion autism research and care. Together, we can create a better world and bring Taylor Swift back to Philly!
Thank you for your support,
The Carlino Family
