Hello! Welcome to our fundraising page! We are so appreciative of all the amazing things The Eagles Autism Foundation is doing for the Autism community and we are so proud to support and be a part of that.
Dominique was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old and a genetic disorder called Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome at 10. BRS is a condition caused by a mutation of the ASXL3 gene. Two years later, at 12 years old, we received a report from some research testing we participated in that the ASXL3 gene has been linked to Autism! We finally had the answer to our why!! It is events like The Eagles Autism Challenge that fund those research projects.
As Dominique gets older and I look at the future, the Autism and special needs community severely lacks resources for adults. A lot of progress has been made but there is still more work that needs to be done.
