Achilles International is a global, non-profit organization operating in 18 countries- including the US and right here in Connecticut!

Achilles transforms the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. Since our organization's founding 40 years ago, we have empowered over 150,000 athletes of all ages and ability levels to participate in endurance events around the globe.  While our programs focus on running, our main objective has always been to bring hope, inspiration, and the joys of achievement to all.

Achilles breaks down barriers to race start lines and empowers the disability community to cross the finish line.  In workouts and races we pair athletes with disabilities and medical conditions with runners and walkers without disabilities in order to become active, set goals, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life.  

We are proud to be an Official Charity of the 2023 Eversource Hartford Marathon for the 10th consecutive year!  2023 also marks the 10-year revival of our Chapter, with Eversource Hartford serving as our main fundraiser (see our commemorative video and photo collage below).
