We are
so appreciative of all the amazing things The Eagles Autism Foundation is doing
for the Autism community and we are so proud to support and be a part of that.
Team
Dommie is inspired by our beautiful, smart, sweet, and sassy daughter, Dominique.
She was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old and an extremely rare genetic
disorder called Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome at 10. She was the 8th
one WORLDWIDE medically diagnosed with this condition, right here at CHOP. Through
research done at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the ASXL3 gene
mutation has been linked to Autism. Grants for that and many other research
projects are funded, in part, by The Eagles Autism Foundation and funds raised
through the Eagles Autism Challenge. So, we have personally gotten to see just
how important their efforts are for our daughter’s future.
Our
team’s mission is to promote inclusion. All day, every day, everywhere! Dominique
is non-verbal and communicates using an iPad. We are her advocates, and we want
to make sure she is not only seen, but heard. We want to teach people the
importance of being patient, kind and accepting so Dominique can reach her full
potential and live in a world where she is embraced and included. 💚
