Child Advocates recruits, trains and supports volunteer advocates who provide a voice for children in foster care. We provide lifesaving advocacy that helps abused and neglected children exit foster care to a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

Our volunteers' main job is to provide the court with recommendations about where the children they help should live permanently. Throughout the case, our advocates maintain contact with everyone involved in the children's lives -- from foster parents to biological parents and therapists to Child Protective Services caseworkers or even attorneys appointed by the court. They make sure the children receive the medical and psychological help they need, and they meet with teachers and principals to help them thrive in school. They dry tears and give hugs and throw birthday parties, too. But, most importantly, they serve as a 'constant' person for the children to count on during this tumultuous time. Our volunteers do whatever it takes to ensure that the needs of the children are met while they are in care.
