Chrysalis Center’s mission is to provide supportive services
to assist people in need to transform their lives.
Chrysalis Center was founded in 1975 with a purpose of
providing support services to adults living in poverty who struggled with
mental illness, helping them live as independently as possible. Today Chrysalis
Center has expanded its programs and is a socially innovative, multiservice
nonprofit organization that serves individuals and their families living in the
State of Connecticut.
Chrysalis Center helps those living in poverty,
veterans, men, women, young adults, and families who are struggling with mental
health, addiction, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and those returning from
incarceration through five core services: Employment Services, Support Services
and Case Management, Housing, Recovery Services, and a Food Hub to address food
insecurity. As the impacts of the pandemic continue to disproportionately
impact the population served by Chrysalis Center, additional supportive
services to clients, such as food assistance, continue to be necessary.
Freshplace, their on-site fresh food pantry continues to see an increase in
individuals and families seeking food. Chrysalis Center proudly serves more
than 1,500 individuals and families each year.
