E is for Evan, but it is also for epilepsy, a condition that punched our family in the faces on January 12, 2025, when Evan experienced a major and unprecedented seizure in our living room. After a hospital stay, and a whole bunch of appointments with all kinds of brain doctors, we feel very lucky to have been able to return, mostly, to life as usual. We have a twice-daily medicine that does its best to ensure Evan does not have a repeat seizure event (so far, so good, please knock on wood at literally all times). We hope beyond hope beyond hope that Evan outgrows this case of pediatric epilepsy. And still, we walk for him, and we walk for everyone else who suffers and struggles with all the many variations of this sometimes debilitating condition.
