The Valentine family walks in support of our son/brother, Javier, who was diagnosed with a seizure disorder when he was 3-years-old.
On 9/27/26, we walk in NYC for Epilepsy Awareness. In April 2024, Javier was hospitalized for focal impaired awareness cluster seizures and the day that began our journey to manage his seizures while living his best kid life.
Since then, we walked the Epilepsy Walk in 2024, 2025, and will be there in September 2026. NYU and Boston Children's Hospital are part of our medical community and support, and we go to support them and others who walk the same journey as us. Javier's anti-seizure medication works, he does not have drug-resistant seizures, and we hope for seizure freedom. Everyday, we are grateful for Javi's health, growth, and joy, access to insurance, medicine, doctors, supports, hospitals, and medical advancements. He is living his best kid life, which is what we hope for all children with epilepsy.
