Franciscan Outreach serves adults ages 18+ who are currently experiencing, or at imminent risk of homelessness in Chicago and previously residing in dwellings not meant for habitation, exposing them to numerous health and safety concerns.. Our service sites are located on Chicago’s west side and near south side, where the highest concentration of unsheltered Chicagoans reside. The people we serve are among our city's most marginalized residents, making them most likely to be excluded from receiving the care and support they need. They are often alone in the world, facing multiple and complex challenges that contribute to their homelessness and make securing or maintaining permanent housing more difficult. Our primary objective is to ensure the health and safety of our guests by providing for their immediate basic needs of emergency shelter and food. Once a guest’s immediate needs are met, we offer guidance, support, and access to additional resources through our Case Management Program designed to help them transition from homelessness into a stable home of their own. We know that navigating homeless services can be complex and challenging, and at Franciscan Outreach, we treat our guests with compassion, dignity, and respect as we empower and guide them on their path to stability.
