Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) is the fourth largest, free-standing long-term acute care hospital in the U.S. and one of only two in the nation serving both adults and children. Located in New Britain and Hartford, we operate on a not-for-profit basis. We are recognized for advanced care and rehabilitation in pulmonary care, acquired brain injury, medically complex pediatrics, neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury, comprehensive heart failure and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.
It is our goal to raise $5,000 as a Silver Charity of the Eversource Hartford Marathon. Our marathon initiative supports Hospital for Special Care’s high quality, specialized clinical care and community-based activities, including adaptive sports, autism, ALS, pulmonary and spinal cord care, and other rehabilitation programs - helping rebuild lives every day!
There are many opportunities for our community to join Team
Special Care and become a part of rebuilding lives. This includes, racing,
running or walking in the marathon, half marathon, 5k and relay races;
volunteering on race day; fundraising for HFSC and/or donating to our
fundraiser’s campaigns.
