THIS YEARS MARATHON and 10k are both VIRTUAL.  We have made some changes in our registration fundraising goals.  We have lowered all our levels so that everyone can focus on staying safe and to minimize any financial impact to you and your friends who may donate to you.  LAYC will still create your fundraising page, and we appreciate anything you can raise for the 2020 Marathon and 10k.  -M.LEON

LATIN AMERICAN YOUTH CENTER (LAYC) is proud to be an official charity partner with the 2020 Marine Corps Marathon and 10k. For over 50 years, LAYC staff have provided low-income youth and families comprehensive and bilingual enrichment, prevention and intervention programs and opportunities in education, workforce readiness, housing, community building, mental health services, arts, and healthy recreation. Our mission is to empower a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through multi-cultural, comprehensive, and innovative programs that address youths' social, academic, and career needs. 

TEAM LAYC is seeking 15 Virtual Marathon runners and 20 Virtual runners for this year's 10k race on October 25th, 2020.  You will be helping us raise funds to fill in much needed gaps in the services we provide young people in the DMV.  

NOTE:  You will not be charged for registration but we do have a minimum fundraising requirement that is cost of the Virtual Entry and cost of LAYC Racing shirt and some LAYC support costs.  Please see new LEVELS below.  This is only a reflection of the cost of MCM bibs, which will be paid for by LAYC. You will not be charged anything else until the day of the race. On that day, you will be charged for the remainder of the minimum commitment for your race.

You have a WINDOW of time to do your run.  It needs to be done in one session/day.  Complete your run between October 1, 2020 and November 09, 2020.  Then send in proof (ex. via run app) to MCM Organization for both races.

MARATHON RUNNERS:

We have 15 reserved VIRTUAL bibs and each runner will commit to raising $65 by October 25, 2020.

10K RUNNERS:

We have 20 reserved VIRTUAL bibs and each runner will commit to raising $50 by October 25, 2020.
