The Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to organize with the Little Village community to accomplish environmental justice and achieve the self-determination of immigrant, low-income, and working-class families. We are a proud charity partner of the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and are excited to support an amazing team of runners this year! Our runners have dedicated their 26.2 mile run to raise funds for LVEJO's ongoing environmental justice and mutual-aid efforts that support frontline communities and families. By donating to their fundraisers and LVEJO, you'll directly be forwarding initiatives such as …
- Growing organic and locally grown produce in La Villita Park Community Farm that will be redistributed to families in the community and mutual aid programs,
- Installing new air monitors in frontline communities to advance the collection of air pollution data that will demand policy changes to prioritize the health of these neighborhoods,
- Hosting new cohorts for the Stewards of the Land (SOL) Youth Stewardship Program with new skill-building and professional development opportunities for youth leaders,
- Generating new resources to address the urban flooding and water justice issues of Chicago,
- Supporting a new cohort for LVEJO's Solar Workforce Development Program that certifies students for jobs in the renewable energy field,
- Advancing environmental justice policies from a local to the national level!
Thank you for cheering on the Team and supporting LVEJO along the way!
