A MESSAGE FROM Team LoveForLukey
Every day 100 new cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder are diagnosed, making it one of the fastest-growing developmental disabilities in the U.S. This complex neurological and developmental condition currently affects 1 in 68 individuals in this country alone. Usually detected during the first three years of life, its exact causes remain a mystery. On Saturday, May 19, 2018, I will participate in the Eagles Autism Challenge with the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization and thousands of Philadelphia area residents who will ride, run or walk to raise funds for innovative autism research and programs. The Eagles Autism Challenge donates 100% of participant-raised funds to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health in support of a collaborative effort to make a lasting impact in the field of autism. How amazing! I will be doing the walk with my three kids in support of a family who is near and dear to our hearts, The Johnson family. This family and their son "Lukey" are so special to us! Of course they go above and beyond for their own son but they also continue to work daily in their own ways for the betterment of all those effected with Autism. As a participant of The Eagles Autism Challenge and I have a $250 fundraising goal. I need your support to reach and hopefully surpass my goal. Help me assist those currently affected as well as future generations! Go to https://haku.ly/c5d83a to donate to my fundraising page. All donations are tax deductible and you will automatically receive a receipt via email. If you prefer to donate by check, please make your check payable to the Eagles Autism Challenge, include my name in the check memo and mail to: Eagles Autism Challenge One NovaCare Way Philadelphia, PA 19145 Also, if YOU would like to sign up for the Eagles Autism Challenge and start your own fundraising efforts, please join my team here: https://haku.ly/32ec6b You can walk, run or bike!! THANK YOU in advance for your support of this collaborative effort by these leading institutions. We are truly advancing autism research together! May 19th will be yet another historic day in Philadelphia! With love, Shannon Wood
