For more than 20 years the colorful t-shirts of Public Counsel’s “Run for Justice” participants have brightened the streets of Los Angeles as teams from SoCal’s top law firms and major corporations have helped raise money to support our life-changing legal work. 

Public Counsel is a nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to advancing civil rights and racial and economic justice, as well as to amplifying the power of our clients through comprehensive legal advocacy.  Within days of the outbreak of the Los Angeles wildfires, Public Counsel pivoted and began to engage in rapid response to address the most immediate needs of those impacted, including staffing disaster clinics, providing one-on-one legal assistance, developing and disseminating know-your-rights education materials and webinars on the rights of various affected groups, and advocating for policies to protect impacted individuals, small businesses, nonprofits, and neighborhoods.  Click HERE to access resources and more information on our fire response work.

Public Counsel is proud to be an official charity of the Nonprofit Partner Program for the Los Angeles Marathon, Charity Challenge and LA 5k once again.  The money raised through our Run for Justice helps Public Counsel continue this vital work addressing and meeting the needs of our clients and communities.  We are pleased to invite you to come out and Run for Justice with us at the LA Big 5k run/walk on March 15, 2025, or the full L.A. Marathon or Charity Half-Marathon on March 16, 2025
