Since 1978 RMHC Greater Houston has been supporting families with a child facing a serious illness or injury.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston is to provide a supportive home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving medical care at area hospitals. By easing the financial and emotional burdens and taking care of important practical needs, Ronald McDonald House allows families to focus on what truly matters most, caring for their child.
Other services include our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, JoyFULL Eats meal program and comprehensive wrap-around care that provides a supportive network of resources to families of children receiving treatment for pediatric illnesses in the Texas Medical Center.

Q: I have never run for a charity. How does it work? When you sign up with a charity, we pay your registration fee. In return, you commit to raising money for the families of RMHC who receive housing, food, programming and more - at NO COST. The minimums are decided by the Chevron Marathon committee and apply to all Run for a Reason nonprofits: $250 for a 5K race and $500 for a marathon or a half marathon.
Q: What do I get for being part of the team? You help support families during one of the most challenging moments in their life and get a great support group! Runners get free entry into our 5K in December, a tech tee, a super fun Hoopla Station, prizes and a pancake breakfast at our partner Snooze on Holcombe. Additionally, we have a team Facebook page where you can connect with current and past runners.

Q: I already signed up for one of the Chevron races. Can I switch to the RMHC Running Team? YES! You can switch to our Charity Team! Email marathon@rmhchouston.org and we’ll help with the switch.
Our Impact
Each year our Ronald McDonald House programs serve as a home away from home for hundreds of families from around the country and world. In a typical year, we host over 30,000 overnight family stays for more than 1,500 families as their children seek essential healthcare. With the help of our generous donors and supporters, we provide more than 250,000 meal and snack servings and help our families save millions in hotel, food and transportation costs annually.
